Gold and walnut brown dining area.

I am starting to build together my idea for a small dining area for around four people. Typically, I will only need two chairs at the max, but it is nice to have guests over. I might get six chairs and keep two under my island when not in use, and only pull them out when I have friends/family over.

I really like the contrast of the dark wooden to the light, metallic gold colours. I think the mirror that will sit behind the table on the wall gives a nice depth to the area as well as opening it up. Mirrors are an excellent way to make small areas, appear larger.

The pendent lights highlight the tall ceilings and are a feature to the house rather than just a light fixture. They are also brown as well as gold so are a perfect fit for the room. That is one key point of getting a lot of main pieces from the same stores; they're typically designed in the same style or to put together.

I was thinking of either getting wooden handled cutlery or getting gold cutlery to match really well. I would keep them in a dark wooden pot on a tray. In the tray along side the cutlery would be some big, tall candles along with salt and pepper shakers, coasters too.

I think the chairs are a good match but I have a slight worry that because of the material, they look/feel cheap, so I want to find some good quality brown, leather chairs. These will be on the pricey side but they're an investment and a good one at that.
